I hadn’t actually written any songs for nearly 4 years. That’s an extraordinarily long time for such a prolific songwriter as myself - but I was happy in accepting that my creative river may have run dry, as I’d already written more songs than most songwriters would ever do in a lifetime…

However, as I’d recorded at least one album/EP in every house I’d ever lived in since the beginning of my album-making journey, my OCD was struggling with the fact that I was about to move house without having recorded anything in the place I was living! So I did something I vowed never to do; I forced myself to write a song. But instead of it being an unnatural struggle, it came very easily - and better yet, it shattered the floodgates and overwhelmed me with inspiration, and I couldn’t stop writing!

What I had planned to be a short EP quickly turned into a full album. The songs came very rapidly, and I couldn’t help but come up with some instrumentals along the way. So, this is the first time I’ve ever released an album that consists of an equal mix of songs and instrumentals.

Hopefully you will enjoy listening to my eclectic 28th album as much as I enjoyed writing and recording it…
