The 21st solo album...



Back in 1993 I recorded a 60-minute cassette album called ‘Freakshow’ which contained the first songs I’d written that I was really pleased and excited about. They were daring and interesting, far more than anything I’d written before, and I felt like I had finally found my uniqueness…

Over the years I have cherry-picked the best songs from that album to re-record properly for my CD albums (I don’t officially include my tape albums for some reason!) The songs that remained were the weaker ones - but instead of discarding them, I decided I’d have a go at re-recording them too - and with slight re-writes and new arrangements I think they easily stand up to being as good as the other ones now!

This time I decided to have some crowd vocals on ‘A Bastard And A Whore’ featuring some of my most talented singer and songwriter friends, some of whose albums I have also collaborated on.

In the spirit of the original, I’ve been bolder than usual with the reverbs and post-production. And I personally think this is one of my most listenable albums. You may disagree of course, but you’d be wrong!! Haha.
