It was an ambition of mine to record an entire album in just one day. I pretty much achieved that – although I added a few overdubs during the next couple of days, but made sure I didn’t exceed a total recording time of 24 hours. Hence the title…

So here it is; my 10th solo album!

I recorded it without any pre-planned arrangements (which resulted in me having to write some tunes on the day!) Making an album in such a short period of time - all by yourself - is not something I’d recommend…at least not unless you love putting yourself under unnecessary pressure!

I kept it all very simple (there are no epic guitar solos!) and I limited my instruments to just electric guitar and keyboards. The drums were played via the keyboard (mainly loops) and I even swapped my bass for playing the bass line on the keyboard too. Never tried those things before, but it certainly made life easier!

The album travels along at breakneck speed, with the average track lasting just 100 seconds. Beginning with some drums, and ending with some owls (recorded from my open window - and a gorgeous sound I am blessed with every night!) the songs span multiple genres, from rock to trip-hop via reggae, rockabilly and goth.

You may also note that the running order of the tracks is in alphabetical order. It was a conscious decision to do that, and one that seems to strangely work!

This will almost certainly be the first and last album I attempt to record in 24 hours. I’m stupid. But not THAT stupid!
